The name EPR has become synonymous
with sound security and is widely recognized as being one of the
leaders in the electronic security industry.
The company was established in 1994, and has
grown from strength to strength over the years.
EPR has developed into the number
one security supplier in RANDFONTEIN and has gained
an enviable reputation for it's stability and the quality of it's
products and services.
EPR is now operating in Randfontein,
Krugersdorp and Westonaria with
our control centre based in Randfontein.
E.P.R (Pty) Ltd is a corporate member of SAIDSA
(South African Intruder Detection Services Association)
the controlling body of the electronic security industry and complies
with all standards set by the governing body.
All our employees are registered with the Private
Security Industry Regulatory Authority (SIRA), and received
their training from a SIRA accredited training
centre.
1. SAIDSA Member
As a member of SAIDSA we undertake to:
confirm and abide by the constitution and by-laws
of SAIDSA and fulfil the requirements as laid down
by the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (old
Security Officer’s Board);
act with integrity, dedication and responsibility at all times,
uphold standards and avoid any action contrary to the public interest;
decline to act in professional capacity unless capable, qualified
and competent to do so.
SAIDSA is actively involved
in negotiations with SAIA (South-African Insurance Association)
to establish a national standards’ board similar
to the well known VESA in the motor industry.
We hereby include a copy of our SAIDSA
membership as approved installer, monitoring centre and armed reaction
service provider.
2. SIRA Registration
EPR and all staff members are registered with
the SIRA, and all staff received and is receiving
training on a continues basis at accredited SIRA
training facilities.
3. SETA
Our company is one of only 187 out of 4 524 registered
security companies that registered with the SASSETA.
As such we have an internal skills development plan in place conforming
with the relevant Skills Development legislation.
We further have in our employment an accredited
SETA assessor.
4. Control Room
Our 24 hour SAIDSA approved
control room is situated in Randfontein, supported
by a network of repeater sites to assure 24 hour radio contact with
all our vehicles and the receiving of alarm radio signals.
Our control room is manned 24 hours by professionally
trained personnel.
5. Fleet
We currently have the following vehicles in
our fleet:
24 Reaction vehicles
11 Technical support vehicles
2 Transporters
6. Technical Support
Our technical department currently consists of
technical teams and one technical manager for the installation
and repair of all electronic security equipment including but
not limited to alarm systems, intercoms,
gate motors, CCTV’s and electric
fence applications.
An after hour technician is available at all
times.
7. Armed Response
All our reaction vehicles are manned by one fully trained security
officer, uniformed and armed with a 9mm fire-arm.
In terms of the SIRA Act, EPR
provides the fire-arms to the security officer’s.
No security officer is allowed to work
with his own fire-arm.
All reaction officer’s have completed
the competency certification as required in terms of the new fire-arm
Act.
All reaction vehicles are equipped with mobile
and portable two-way radio’s for 24 hour communication with
our control room.
8. Staff
8.1 Remuneration
All staff members are remunerated above the minimum
prescribed rate in terms of the Sectoral Determination applicable
to Security personnel, thereby eliminating any
strikes and assuring a stable staff turn-over.
8.2 Disciplinary procedure
A comprehensive disciplinary code and process
is in place that complies with all relevant legislation and enforced
by an internal legal department.
8.3 Availability
Sufficient staff are employed, and additional
staff are acquired when and if necessary. Back-up staff are available
on a 24-hour basis.

9. Supervision
At all times a supervisor (s)
is on duty to conduct ad-hoc visits to all sites and reaction vehicles
to inspect the level of service.
Top management is actively involved in the ad-hoc conducting
of visits.
10. Company liaison
In addition to the supervisor (s),
the client will have direct contact via cell or telephone to top
management to assist when and where possible.

Response procedure
At EPR the closest vehicle is
dispatched as and when a signal is received in the control room.
We have the following priority schedule:
Duress phone-in 1
Panic 2
Burglary 3
12. Response times
A response time is subject to the following:
Relation between position of vehicle
and alarm address;
Weather conditions;
Street conditions and road signs;
Accidents;
Any other unforeseen factor.
We are however obliged in terms of the by-laws
of SAIDSA to provide an average response time of
not more than 15 minutes in any given area.
13. Public liability
EPR has a sufficient public
liability cover in place to cover incidents relating to inter alia
arrests and incidents involving fire-arms.
